How to Learn English Using Grammar Books

Grammar is one of the most essential things you should know when you learn to write proper English. It deals with the forms and structures of words and sentences. You should know the proper usage of such words. The best way to learn English grammar is not by using the dictionary but by using English grammar books.

It is best to learn English grammar in school wherein a teacher will really help you everyday but if you do not have the time and money, just make use of English grammar books. Aside from the fact that they are inexpensive compared to going to school, they are very reliable compared to the Internet.

First thing you should do is to choose the best book for you. Find the one that is easy for you to read and understand. You can ask for some help from the bookstore assistant. Do not just buy one book but buy a number of books since not all books have the same points. It is best to compare one with the other.

Second, make sure you really read and of course, understand the rules of writing proper English. Test yourself by writing several paragraphs and check the books you have bought for errors and correct them if there are any.

Ask some assistance from a friend who you know is good at English. Do not just let him correct your writing but ask him to explain as well. Try to understand everything he says, never hesitate to ask questions. Remember it is better to ask than to act as you know everything because you are the only one who benefits this.

Finally, try writing a whole article or essay and proofread everything. Make sure you are not bias with the checking of your work. Do the necessary corrections and write some comments. Read different articles and works of popular writers and understand them carefully. Learn from what they are doing and for sure, you will make a good writer.

English grammar books can really improve not only your English writing skills but your speaking skills as well. If you are good in writing, it does not necessarily mean that you are also good in speaking but you can be good at both if you are determined to be. By reading these books, you broaden your knowledge and you can make beautiful writings and eventually be a famous writer and a good speaker as well.

When you speak in your native tongue, the correct sentences seem to come right into you.

Reading a grammar book will help you to develop the intuition needed. Studying English is all about putting a good number of suitable sentences in your head. Your brain can then imitate them and produce similar English sentences to express the significance you are opting for. When you read and listen to English much, paying attention to English vocabulary, you will start soon to employ new words and expressions of English in your speech and writing.

If you ever followed English classes, you were probably invited to read a text and then to achieve a task related to it. The majority of the professors encourage students to read very quickly, to just obtain the precise force of the English text. You could think that this way your English will improve you, but you have other manners around.

Good writers not only rely on themselves, when it comes to write good copy, abstracts, documents, letters or even books. They rely on supportive tools, like advanced NLP grammar checkers.

How to Learn English As You Write - The Easy Way

Writing software is not traditionally a tool for teaching English language skills. However, as these types of applications have matured through the years, they are increasingly becoming useful tools not just for fashioning your written documents into shape, but for helping you improve you master the language as well. How exactly does it perform as a language learning software?

See, every time you run a document through an English writing software, it analyzes it and points out erroneous portions, instantly letting you see weaknesses in your language skill set. As it points our mistakes and provides advice on how you may fix them, it’s serving as a teaching tool, almost like a private tutor of sorts. In fact, we’d go so far as to say that it’s probably a better learning platform than many courses, simply because you’re developing the language skills in an applied manner.

If you’re an ESL speaker currently taking a language course, using a writing software when you practice at home is bound to do more good for you than watching hours of English television or reading a chapter of a grammar book. Think back to when you were studying Math, for instance. Did you learn more from listening to a teacher, observing your classmates or solving the problems yourself while getting direct one-on-one feedback on your solutions? I’d venture a guess that the third of those options offered the best results when it came to lessons that you actually remember and seamlessly integrated into your skillset.

In many ways, an English writing software is akin to hiring a private tutor, except its infinitely cheaper and more convenient.

A powerful vocabulary usually takes time and experience to build. While that holds true for most folks, it doesn’t mean you can’t help accelerate the process a bit along the way. These practical tips should help you develop a robust vocabulary store faster than your average English learner.

1. Derive relationships

Words based on a common theme or concept are easier to memorize than those with no concept to tie them together. Most vocabulary lessons found on language learning software are structured this way for a reason - they work exceptionally well.

2. Write it down

Writing, for some reason, has a way of imprinting words into your consciousness. Instead of just reading words off a page, try putting them to paper yourself - the effect can be downright amazing.

3. Use your creativity

Employ your creative side and relate words to drawings, photographs, dance moves or whatever art form feels most natural to you. This can create a relationship that will help you pull out the right words at just the right time - most of the time, anyway.

4. Find relevance

Study words that carry a certain relevance to certain areas of your life. If you’re into basketball, for instance, words that relate to the game will usually prove easier to memorize than words often used in engineering pursuits. Whatever hobby, life event or situation carries meaning for you, use them to your advantage in vocabulary-building.

5. Be reasonable

Your vocabulary is not going to go from zero to hero in one day. As such, set reasonable goals that you can succeed in to build your confidence. That will prove 10 times better than failing over and over while trying to pursue unrealistic ideals.

Reading - A Great Way To Learn English

Learning the English language can be a difficult task. There many methods of learning English to help you overcome the various problems associated with grammar, spelling, pronunciation, and even English slang. One method is actively reading. The more that you read, the more you broaden your understanding of the language, and as a result, the faster you will learn to read and speak English.

Textbooks are a very helpful learning tool, but newspapers, magazines, and novels are great ways to give you a better understanding of the English language. You will learn the various English expressions, phrases, sentence structures, and words, which will help improve your vocabulary. Make sure that you keep a dictionary close by when you start reading because some words and phrases can be tricky.

Reading on your own is not just effective, but it is also extremely motivating. When you read on your own, you will be reading something that you have chosen. It will be interesting because it is what you chose, rather than something your teacher told you to read. As a result, you read much more willingly. Learning words naturally is both fun and educational. You will also learn how to use the correct words at the appropriate time. Generally, you should read at least a few pages per day. If you believe that you do not have time to read, take a book or magazine with you everywhere that you go. This will allow you to read in a variety of places such as when you are waiting in a long line at a bank or traveling on a bus.

Students who read a lot will actually learn to think in English. When students read every day, they will first learn slowly, but then they eventually start to learn faster and more easily. Reading helps the brain concentrate on English. Your brain will be repeating the words and phrases that it has seen many times. By reading a book in English, you have given your brain thousands of English sentences. Soon, you will begin speaking the language with confidence.

Reading is a great way to review and remember English words. By reading newspapers and magazines, students will remember what they learned long after they have completed an English learning class. As well, reading is an activity that can be enjoyed by all ages.

Reading maps is also a helpful tool. It will expand your knowledge of the geographic areas. If you are in business, you will most likely be required to write in English. Reading will help your writing because it will provide you with more expressions that you were not previously familiar with.

When reading English, phrases will eventually come easy to you when you are writing or speaking the language. Things like verb tense and how to use words such as "however" will become part of your understanding of the language. You will start to use them correctly without thinking. Correct phrases will just appear in your head. Also, when you read something that matters to you, you will remember it more. For example, if you read the lyrics of a new song by your favorite band, you are much more likely to repeat them and keep the words and phrases in your memory.

Reading and listening are both great ways to learn English, but reading is usually much easier than listening. With the aid of a good dictionary, you can understand English texts much more easily. The more you read, the easier it will become. It is not always easy, but it is worth the effort.

How To Learn Business English Effectively

Are you learning English for Business? Congratulations. Improving your language skills can be a great way to move into a better job or even get the job you've been dreaming of for a long time. But, have you asked yourself this very important question? Exactly what business are you studying for? This is a question many English language learners never really ask!

You see the language we use changes depending on the situation. The type of business, the work environment, and many other factors will influence the language used in one business from another. Of course some of the language and communication purpose stays the same, but a lot is different. This isn't really too hard to understand, but lets look at a simple example to really clarify what I'm talking about here.

Imagine two people who work for different companies in different industries. One works for http://yahoo.com as a programmer in the internet industry, and another works as a check-in attendant for British Airways in the airline transportation industry. Both require business English, but quite clearly the language the programmer uses to talk with "The Boss" will be very different from the language the check-in attendant uses.

You won't hear the programmer asking a client "Do you want an aisle or window seat?" very often. Nor will you find an airline attendant telling his or her supervisor that the latest sub-routine has a bug in it that is causing client's computers to crash. This just makes simple sense. The work you do, the place you work, and the people you work with will all affect the language that you use on a daily basis.

So, when you are studying English for business purposes, you need to remember a very important thing. You need to study the general business English that will be common in most business situations, but you also need to focus on the language that is specific to the business world that you will be working in.

Doing both of these is critical to your success. If you can’t use the language of your industry because you don’t really know it, you will have a very hard time getting (or keeping) a job.

TIPS LEARN ENGLISH AS INDEPENDENT

1. Contextual!: You may have heard suggestions like - memorized five new vocabulary every day, surely the more vocabulary you have mastered.

I say, could be yes and the success. In fact, when today you successfully memorize 5 words, tomorrow when you are able to memorize five new words again, then the recitation of the day you will be lost. Finally, if you study for a year (365 days) then at the end of your recitation: JUST 5 NEW WORD! He .. he .. This is not ngeledek, but in reality may not be far from it ... do not believe, please see for yourself ...

So how effective way? In my opinion is if you want to memorize a lot of vocabulary and then use ABLE TO USE ways (activities) that I mentioned like the two above points.

In addition, there are other possible ways you can try .. but first I want to ask you first ..
Who among you can say in English how to present the instant noodle in english?

If you can ... good, if not here's how - you tertutama ever and still a boarding school boys certainly know how to create and present the instant noodle.

Prepare a complete with a pack of instant noodles, cook after the procedure. Well while waiting for instant noodles ready to be served then PLEASE READ DIRECTIONS PRESENTATION exist in the instant noodle packs. There is a way of presenting written with 3 and even 4 languages, Indonesian, English, Arabic and even china.

Pay attention to what in English would have stirred with the flat you get the term stir well and so on .. you do not need to specifically memorize these terms and carrying packs of instant noodles everywhere? besides embarrassing not cool .. but enough each time you cook instant noodles or instant noodles right to buy then you can read and learn ... inshaAllah if you maniacs and make noodles of instant noodles a day twice a week then you are guaranteed to be able to say how the present instant noodles in English.

This way you can apply for the fans of other instant foods or beverages, such as herbs brewed. Do not waste packets that pass you by without you getting the benefit of additional vocabulary in English at all.

Besides food and beverages, if you are a fan of movies or music or whatever also do learning activities - especially the increase vocabulary. Because of the way this is more lasting and firmly implanted in our memory.

I still remember, when the film starring Bruce Willis in again ngetrend .. fit my high school, I was very curious with the title DIE HARD ... when I interpret as it is meant to be funny: DIE HARD .. or OFF RIGID cook ... ah no rigid die movie title .. I finally tried to open a rather comprehensive dictionary that only idiom turns .. which means: never give up .. since then the meaning of the Die Hard - never disappear from my mind until now though it was almost 20 years!

Other words that do not forgotten until now was taking medication I used to always say drink the medicine but after knowing the wrap herbal medicine found in English take the medicine.

Well .. that's what I mean by contextual learning .. particularly in memorizing vocabulary ... because DOMINATE THE CORE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES IS HOW MUCH WE DOMINATE GLOSSARY of these languages .. NOT TATABAHASANYA!

Because how many people can not use it to master grammar in both oral and written communication .. I even ... that YOU ARE NOT SURE OF INDONESIAN DOMINATE THE GOOD AND TRUE .. but INDONESIAN LANGUAGE YOU CAN!

That's right! You do not agree ... may protest too!

4. Forget grammar, grammar and tenses: of course this is very extreme, but if you want fast can speak english, especially in oral bekomunikasi ... forget it all ... because the principle of communication is the TST [Know Just Know], so long as the people you talk to know that you mean .. Your liability will fall already mastered grammar and his friends .. I want to give concrete examples that I got directly instead of English native speaker .. in the same conversation with us ... the following example:

"Me come tomorrow" it is spoken by a foreigner who converse with my friends in bali kuta beach .. you who understand the grammar must say that this is wrong grammar .. but who does not understand its meaning?

"You Look, Who? "I heard it from a foreigner from Australia who taught English in Yogyakarta Teachers' Training College (now UNY) - them know it mean?
Yes .. "You / You're looking for who?" (Remember the look can mean looking for other than viewing)

Well if you already know the obvious example in the field like that .. if you still would not hesitate to speak with english language. I use the language of TST Sepengalaman this, I never protested, at most, if they do not understand I was asked to repeat it ..

Does this apply to Speaking (talking) alone?
I do not think too ... as long as it is for informal communication such as chat on Yahoo tertulispun Mesengger with no problem .. I even see blogs Indonesia who speak English (like the theme of this blog - http://jauhari.net) grammar writing is not quite right, but I see visitors from overseas who speak English has never mempemasalahkan and misunderstanding .

What might you need to consider possible if you write a cover letter in English, then you should pay attention to grammar as well. As for other than that I think is okay ..

Well try now to chat with people who speak english in chat rooms on IM, IRC or special to learn English as in http://teachers.net or http://englishclub.com

5. Find the same boat friend!: This is serious, a friend of the same boat here is my friends who have the intention to learn English in ways that you like. This can be virtually in cyberspace as the internet is through the last two sites I mentioned above or could also join English clubs such as the facilitated Radio Kangaroo - you can see the addresses terebut club on the radio site at http kangaroo : / / kangguru.org or also through local radio stations in your town that is broadcast english .. for Indonesian listeners.
Take advantage of it .. Join the activities of the holding. Insha Allah useful.

5. Stay spirit!: You know what to do? Yes .. whose name was learned that sometimes experiencing burnout .. especially if you study itself, is not his friend ... it's perfectly natural .. only certain people and the great who can learn on their own and always keep the spirit all the time ... well, if normal people generally think that there must be bored .. So?

Forget for a moment the things that make a saturated .. read and do other things that you like. But my advice still make something that you feel is always to be able to re-learn it, like what?

Yes, like this blog, you know that this blog (http://hmc.web.id) I created for my tetep always can and learn English .. because of my daily work did not require me to be able to learn English .. well, if for my knowledge useful and not missing so I created a blog .. I always keep the spirit to write and fill out the blog to see if similar positive comments that were there ... although I must strive to set aside time and again flipping through the dictionary and it is not easy - so natural that if you look at the update rate is not too often ... or you want to help me be a contributor on this blog? Please all of you to learn English ...

HOW TO LEARN ENGLISH EFFECTIVELY

LEARN HOW
Everyone has different ways of learning. how to learn is formed from the environment and daily habits. If we know our learning style, then we can choose an effective learning strategy, tailored to the learning style of each of us.

PRINCIPLES OF EFFECTIVE LEARNING
Learning English is not difficult, but also not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. What is important is the willingness and perseverance. Expert learning English, H. Douglas Brown promoted to the five principles of effective learning English following.

"Way of life". If we learn English in a country where the language is used as a Mother Tongue, generally we will more quickly master the language because every day we are surrounded by English, from waking up to go back to bed. This is because English has become an integral part of our lives. Similarly, we have to do in Indonesia, if we want to learn English effectively: we should make English as part of our lives. That is, we should try to use it every day where possible. For that, we can read, hear, or speak the English language on every occasion that we meet or who can we create. For example, we can set aside time each day to read an English article in a single day. If an article has not been able to, one paragraph or one sentence per day would not be a problem. We make our sentence is the sentence that day, and we use those words in any opportunity that might exist in the day.

Or, we can also take the time to hear everything in English (songs, news, or the tapes contain conversations in English) to accustom our ears to the foreign language. All we can do, among others are listening to the tapes (both songs, speeches, presentations, or teaching tapes in English) in the car all the way from home to office or vice versa. We can also try to write in English (writing memos, short letters, or write work plans will we do for a week or for the next day). In principle, we live surrounded by English-topic topic we like or we need.

"Total commitment". For English as an integral part of our lives, we must have a commitment to involve the English language in our lives physically, mentally, and emotionally. Physically, we could try listening, reading, writing, and training in English pronunciation, constantly and repeatedly. Mentally or intellectually, we can try to think in English every time we use the English language.

For example, in understanding the English language, not word for word, but the overall meaning. We can try to identify some expressions in English that have roughly the same meaning, for example: How're you?, How's life?, How's business? (Do not dwell on just one phrase.) And, most important is our emotional involvement with the English language, that we need to have a high motivation to learn English, and we need to seek "positive things" that we can enjoy, or who can give us rewards if we are able to master the English language. These will provide great energy for us to stay motivated to learn English. These three aspects (physical, mental, and emotional) we should totally involved in our learning process, if we want to learn English more effectively.

"Trying". Learning a language is like learning to ride a bike or learning to drive a car. We can not only read and understand the "manual" only, but we must try to use it. In the learning phase (experimental phase), it is normal that we make a mistake. What is important is knowing what we are doing wrong and fix it at the next opportunity. It would be better if at the moment we have a teacher who tries to tell us the mistakes we did. Teachers do not have formal teacher at school or an English course. Teachers could have a tape that we can listen and we compare with our words, a textbook that can be read and check the answer, or it could be acquaintances, or relatives who could help us if we have a problem or there are things that we want ask. We do not be ashamed to ask, and do not be afraid to make mistakes. From the questions we ask and the mistakes we do, we can learn a lot.

"Beyond class activities." If we learn English formally (in class, in the course), usually limited learning hours: four hours a week, six hours a week or eight hours a week. What is certain hours of learning in the classroom is certainly very limited. In order to learn to be more effective, we must create opportunities to "learn" as well outside the hours of coursework: a discussion with friends, visiting websites that offer free English lessons, or communicate in English with your friends or native speakers ( either by mail, email, or direct conversation.) We can also try to read newspapers, magazines, text books, listen to the radio, songs, or watch the events and movies. For learning can be more attractive, choose topics that match our interests, our needs, or which relate to educational background and work of our field.

"Strategies". If the commitment, courage to try, and English as part of our lives has been applied, the next step is to apply appropriate learning strategies to support our learning process. These strategies can we develop and we adjust our personalities and learning styles of each. There is more easily learned by using the "cue-cards", ie small cards that read phrases or words that we want to control is accompanied by example sentences that could use these words. This card can we carry everywhere we go. Whenever there is a chance (at the time of waiting for a taxi, waiting for lunch is served, or while in vehicles that were stuck in traffic), we can take this card and read it and try to improvise with new words in the same sentence structure. There are also people who more easily learn to directly communicate verbally with other people or native speakers. From this communication they ask, listen, and improve pronunciation and increase their vocabulary with our learning style.

"Auditory Learners." If we include those that are easier to learn by listening, then we have the learning style "auditory." If this is our learning style, then we can reproduce portions learn by listening, eg listening to the tapes of English lessons, our favorite songs, or news, speeches in English. We also could hear conversations in English in your favorite movies that we watch in the cinema, television, or VCD. Listen to the words, expressions that are used, consider the context or situation in which the words or phrases are used. Do this over and over again then we will meet with similar expressions that we can train on a regular basis, so that we can be more adept at saying and use it.

"Visual Learners". If we include those that are easier to learn through visual input (images, text), then we have the learning style "visual". There are so many strategies that we can do. We can read the articles in English that we consider important, and interesting in newspapers, magazines, or internet, and then we try to tell me again with words of our own flats, either in writing or in the form of greeting. We can also read and study the sample letters, proposals, brochures that we often encounter in doing our jobs.

To try to understand an abstract concept, we can describe it in a visual form: "flow charts", table, or other visual forms.

"Kinesthetic Learners". If we prefer to learn by doing something or moving, then we can learn by using computers (in which we have to press the button on the keyboard, or mouse), so we do not get bored quickly. We can also join associations in English (Home Club) that has many activities and games that involve movement. Which also we can do is learn to write (move my hands to write), or trying to understand a word or phrase to imagine movements that could be associated with the meaning of these words.

Each person can have more than one learning style (eg auditory and visual, or visual and kinesthetic). Whatever the learning style, if we already know, can we look for and apply learning strategies tailored to the learning styles so that results can be more effective.
